I felt better prepared, and did in fact run 20 minutes faster. I was feeling good about myself as I stayed ahead of Craig Wilson and got by Peter Palmer at the 19 mile turn around, but on the way back was caught up by an old friend, Paul Funch (met him at your first Mt Toby race). Was running wel l the last 2 miles when a hamstring cramped up, 3/10 from the finish.
A fair outing, but my achilles hurt so bad afterward I took 10 minutes to walk the 500 meters to my car.

Seems to me like you did pretty well, as it was a pretty hot day. But track intervals two days later? Does "coach" need a coach?

Jeff, I expect (hope?) you iced and iced that inflammed Achilles asap & took several doses of motrin or alleve - and iced some more in the morning. 'Have ice, have nsaid, will travel' might be something to keep in mind.
