This is why we have GPS tracking.
The best orienteering page ever:

Hopefully you all watched live tracking of relays and long yesterday. If you missed it, there will be middle race (and sprint?). thats the same tracking system used here for TV productions last couple of years.
I must admit, this is fantastic! Truly an excellent development in orienteering - I felt like I was right in the middle of the race! And the relays - cool - it was great watching how the ladies race developed over the last leg!
I say keep it coming!
Jagge, will they use the same tracking system for Jukola?
The new version of GPSseuranta is really great - it has never been that interesting to follow a live GPS tracking session before...
Those Finnish maps are amazingly complicated. I make similar errors... but on really
easy terrain ;-)
Jagge, will they use the same tracking system for Jukola?
I think they will, just like 2007 and 2008.
I don't think there is anything new, all features has been like that for quite some time as windows app. Porting it al to java applet is new thing.
I hope Pekka's systems will be used also outside Finland, like woc events.
Full GPS tracking will be online for the first round of the world cup - expect similar to the first link. First start 11:50 (+2:00 GMT). Tis a middle distance race.

This is horrible... I don't want to see the mistakes that Boris linked up... Even with an error-free run I'd still be at least 30min behind a lot of these runners...
I really have to echo what Boris said. Their NOC coverage is incredible.
This article (published 6/16) is even better.
This is what the magazine that shall not be named could have been. I would pay for this.
