This message has nothing to do with the subject. It is just that I have recently become curious about an Attack Point feature. Long time APers may know the answer to this mystery but I don't.
The question is that below the first post in any new discussion there are three ads - links to a variety of products or services and a note referring to "ads by Google" The product or services offered often have a relation to the subject line. For an example see the discussion on exercise induce asthma.
How do the ads get there? Are they authorized? Are they part of how Attack Point is funded? Why do they appear for readers who are not 'logged in' but disappear for tose logged in, it seems.
I'll be interested in seeing what ads this subject line generates.
dang you sure got me with that subject! I was all excited to talk about fast cars.
You should have done that yesterday ;-)
If you donate to AP Kenny turns off the ads (there are other benefits too, such as the ability to log mixed intensities...). I think they're part of his funding; if anyone clicks through AP to one of the ads Kenny would probably get a few cents.
... but not enough to buy a fast car.
Adds? I don't see any. Are there some under your first post here?
Nice reminder that I should renew my donation to Ken :)
For me the ads only appear when I look at Attack Point without 'logging in'.
"The less you train, the more ads you see." Funny you can't see any leepback!!!
Ads are a part of how Attackpoint is funded. As people have noted, they appear in various configurations and are typically somewhat relevant to the page on which they appear.
Try searching for "rogaine" if you want a laugh. It really sets the ad engines in motion.
yes ti does make the ads go away. Must log on more often!
