Registration opened at 1200am 10th January 2009 - not sure of time zone - however 13 teams registered in the minutes after registration opened.
The 24 hour Rogaine is to be held above the Artic Circle in Finnish Lapland - more information is available from the Event web site.

It's hard for me to believe that a rogaine with no darkness, and also no trees (I think that's the case), would not be quite a different sort of rogaine. And not for the better.
Most of the area around there has trees, the treeline is approximately at 440 metres above sea level there. I count five significant hills which are high enough to have a large bare top around there.
If it's raining and overcast, the four hours between sunset and sunrise will be dark enough. If it's clear, it won't feel much like night, that's true. I'm betting for raining and overcast though. It's summer and Finland after all.
