hey, I have a friend at Rutgers, in NJ, who is interested in trying Orienteering/learning more about it. Does anyone know anyone who orienteers up there?

In mid or south NJ check out DVOA. Both HVO & DVOA are excellent clubs with plenty of able people willing to explain orienteering to newcomers. Some events:

Later this year:

Sat Nov 29, 2008 (with a Night O!!!!) - HVO
Eagle Rock

Sun Dec 07, 2008 - DVOA
Batsto

Early next year:

Sat Apr 11, 2009 - DVOA
Colliers Mills Wildlife Mgmt Area

Sun May 10, 2009 - DVOA
Rutger's Environmental Preserve

Some of these dates are subject to change. So please check the respective schedules as the date nears.

Hi,

Just saw this. I mapped the Environmental Preserve, which is right by the campus, in 2002. If your friend wants a map, just let me know - I kept the copyright.

Delighted to see DVOA are going back there next year!
