http://ourworld.cs.com/usofmeets says "We're sorry to inform you that on October 31, 2008, CompuServe OurWorld was shut down permanently. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Randy's calendar is great. Do we any longer need an "official version" of what's been sanctioned that hides all the internal workings?

The main difference is that the USOF calendar included the contact infromation. My system isn't set up to be able to do that, especially to keep a year of data all on one page. All that information is available in the docs directory, access to which is available to anyone who subscribes to USOF boardnet.

The easiest thing (IMHO) until another official USOF calendar occurs is for MD's to send me links to their events once their web sites are up. I'm not terribly aggressive in trolling for this, some send it; those that don't have entries without links.

It's too bad the page host has shut down, but it would be extremely easy enough to add this particular page format to the USOF site, where it would be available from the Events page (as the old one was) which lists the events in simplified format (i.e., links). The Schedule of Sanctioned Events format is also handy for ONA.

I get the info for the USOF site from Randy's sanctioning page and used to also get it from the CompuServe page. It would be nice if there was a specific contact/distribution list for event planners so all calendars contained the same information; perhaps there is one and I just don't appear on it.

WOW! That was a surprise to me. They gave absolutely no warning.
Obviously I now need to put the page up on another site.

The calendar is back up again on a new server.

It's not as simple an address as before on ourworld but it fills my needs better than any of the free web hosting sites. Let me know of any problems.
