If you have already registered, please disregard

If you have NOT yet registered, please be aware that not only do registration fees go up substantially on May 17th, there will also be a HARD cutoff of registration for either the Team Trials (WRE) and non-Team-Trials WRE categories at 11:59pm next Wednesday, May 21st. This is to allow the randon start draw to take place on the morning of May 22nd, after which time start times for the Trials and WRE are Fixed.

If you are able to register for M/F21 after this time, you may still be eligible for the A-event (and USOF ranking points) but you will not be eligible for the Team Trials or WRE.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks.

The above comment was actually posted by AJ's dad, Wyatt. Asking AJ about the above topic will likely result in a very confused 7 year old, so please ask me instead, if you have questions. :)

On-line, pre-registration for the non-WRE/TT participants at the DVOA Chasing the Star A-Meet will close Wednesday night, May 21 as well.

After that time, you will need to register at the event.

Please check your registration data.

Start times for everyone but the WRE & TT participants will be posted sometime on Monday.

Also, as a reminder to TT & WRE participants:

For the Saturday Sprint, METAL SPIKES WILL BE PROHIBITED!

And, you will NOT have time to go back to whereever you came from to get a change of footwear.

Question: Am I reading this right that the swimming area at Hickory Run is included in the out-of-bounds? Those of us camping in the campground with young kids would like to be able to take them swimming. Is this a problem?

Sandy:
The Sand Spring Lake area (which is where the swimming is) is one of the areas that is okay to use.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. From the description and looking at the park map that didn't seem obvious. I guess the next question is if anyone knows how to fix a pulled calf muscle in 4 days. It suddenly looks like I will not be running after all. Seeing a doctor in the morning. Sigh.

It turns out there are a couple versions of the park map, each showing different regions as no hunting. So the out-of-bounds description has been changed to the following:

Everything in Hickory Run State Park should be considered out-of-bounds except the following areas:
1. The terrain on the model event map.
2. The Sand Spring Lake area including the beach and frisbee golf course.
3. The campground area.
4. The Boulder Field (worth visiting if you've never been) and Hawk Falls.
5. The area in Camp Shehaqua shown as okay in the course notes.

Sorry for any confusion.

A reminder that if you want to be scored as WRE and/or Team Trials courses, you must register by 11:59 tonight - and that is my time here on the east coast. After that point, the WRE/TT times will be drawn.

There are some people signed up for M/F-21+ who did not check the WRE box. This is shown as an "N" on the registration list. If you do want to be submitted for WRE points, you need to contact me or the registrar today.

Please check your registration data.
