Wyatt organized a sprint race for Saturday afternoon at the Water Gap. Map and unofficial results.

I thought it was pretty cool. Actually I was surprised that I did it as I was pretty tired after a hilly Red course on a warm day. But the start/finish was right by the bus drop-off and download station, and the course was short enough, and the challenge to see if I could beat the age/sex adjusted goal was there, and they let you pay later so not having 5 bucks on hand was not an excuse, and before I knew it I was out on the course and not much later I was done.

I'm curious what others thought. Mainly because it would be nice to see more of these next year.

Helpers included Pavlina, Sandra, Karen, and Sharon (and perhaps others?).

Can't read the results. It appears that they are all scrunched together.

The event was great though. I am thinking I could easily do it as a Junior Fundraiser at the HVO A-Meet in the spring.

The results are also on the DVOA web site.

Glad you liked it Peter. I was very happy with the turnout given how tough the A-event Day 1 courses were. The nice weather and our highly visible start/finish location really helped.

It wasn't really that hard to organize - without kids it would have been trivial to do, and even with kids it was possible due to lots of at-the-event help from people like Karen (set controls), Brian May, & Vlad, and even Pavlina & Sandra who just helped out on the spot without even a formal assignment. Plus Boris donated the map prize. Overall some good 'team' work :)

And I can't forget Sandy F. (A-event director) as well who was very supportive, and, for example, loaned us the control bags to use.

Hopefully other Team members can do this at their local A-events next year too!

Not much to say. I did it. Therefore I must have thought it was a good thing to do. And if there were more in the future, I would almost certainly do them as well.

(Although backrubs from Sandra and Karen might be an even better fundraiser after a long course!)

I am sure that Sandra and I would be more than willing to give backrubs as a team fundraiser event.
