In a surprise move, HVO announced today, that it has accepted the take over offer by WCOC. "We happily agreed", says Piutepro, HVO's last president and chief negotiator with WCOC. The new name is YO (Yahoo Orienteering or Yankee Orienteering). Both Yahoo and the NY Yankees made offers as team sponsors, both companies are willing to build a custom orienteering stadium and both said, they are more than happy to hire the HVO and the WCOC board as CEOs.

While this comes as a surprise announcement to many orienteers, we believe that this is right step to bring orienteering to the main stream and a larger audience.

I think accepting both sponsors would be best. Two O-stadiums would be so nice, one on each side of the continent, yes?

Interesting. At a campaign stop in Phillie this morning, Sen. Clinton modestly admitted that of all the presidential candidates, she had been the only one to ever have successfully predicted YO, doing so quite a long time ago, while dodging intense sniper fire in Bosnia.

Well, I'm not running for anything, but I predicted YO as well, many years ago, but in my conceptualization the entity was to be called New York Power.

while dodging intense sniper fire in Bosnia.

Makes sense, since HVO has long had a presence in that area.

I finally understand the term running for president. They try to avoid sniper fire on the way to the throne. -

But seriously, Swampfox might not even know about this, but I was also considering a merger with Blue Star Komplex. This would have required to take over all the clubs between New York and Laramie. The number of members then would be equal the membership of a small town Norwegian o-club.

The negotiations ended, when we could not agree on who picks up the controls after a local meet in another state, e.g. in Florida. Now we have Donna Fluegel doing this.

Yet we have to deal with Steinbrenner family. They threaten to send Roger Clemens to the US team trials and if he loses, then... outch... A bean ball...

George called me, he wants Marc Lauenstein to become part of the YO! team. I told him, that Marc lives in Switzerland. "Don't care", he grumbled, "I have money. I want the best. Period." There comes the limo, sorry, got to go.

YYO? But I can't decide between the Yahoo Yankees or the Yankee Yahoos.
Would Steinbrenner dare sue USOF claiming that he already owns the Yahoo Yankees?
