There are a number of US Athletes that are headed to NAOC directly after WUOC in Bulgaria. Big reach, but is there anyone that is headed from Toronto out to Kingston on the evening of the 6th that would have space for some extra people? We should be landing around 7pm. Thanks in advance!

this would be a great way for Canada to gain a BK Cup advantage. Pick up the Americans and drive them to Sudbury “by mistake”.

Canada is already gaining an advantage by having North Americans directly after WUOC… heard no Canadians are going to WUOC, how interesting.
(sorry to distract from original topic)

I've posted a link to this thread in the DontGetLost facebook group. Southern Ontario orienteers aren't super active on attackpoint - it might be worth contacting the other clubs directly, particuarly TOC.

If you're not able to find anyone to give a ride, the VIA rail train from Union station in Toronto to Kingston can be fairly cheap to book if you book a while in advance!

Adventure Girl makes a very good point. While rail travel in Canada usually does not take us where orienteers need to go this event is an exception.
You can take one train from the airport to the downtown (Union) station then another from Union Station to Kingston where you can have friends pick you up.
But you might have to sleep overnight in Union Station as the last train to Kingston is about 6:30 in the evening and the next is about 6:30 in the morning with about a 9 am arrival.

If you can't find a ride there are many regional bus services that run from Union or Pearson to Kingston that run later into the evening. Flixbus, Megabus, Red Arrow etc...

Does anyone know the timing of the NAOC Sprint race on Aug 6? Would like to determine before fees increase, if we can stay for the sprint - 1000 klick drive home for our first day of school on the 7th.

Thanks. Unfortunate (at least for us) that it’s not in the morning.

"Cough, cough. Hello Principal Smith. This is Mike. I went up to Canada with a carload of students. We all caught Covid and have been quaranteened in a detention camp called Calabogie. We won't be able to get back and to school until at least next Monday. Cough. Cough."

Ah I was confused because the Matt-S above is Matt Smith … so I thought the comment refer to him ferrying Team folks! Now I get it.
