Registration for Flying Pig XXVI will be opening in a few days.

Meanwhile, you are strongly encouraged to book your lodging, especially if you want to stay in the area Sunday night for the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8. Our lodging blocks only cover Fri and Sat nights.

Our lodging block at Hueston Woods State Park Lodge (Sat and Sun events) will release to the public on Feb 5. Other hotel blocks will be held until March 5, but when they're gone, they're gone. And if you want to stay Sun or Mon night, you need to work with the hotels right away to have any chance of finding a room for those nights.

Hueston Woods campground is already mostly full. Call now for any remaining electric campsites.

If you want to tent camp, we have a group site at Hueston Woods and spots may be reserved through Event Reg when our registration opens. Please note that there is no vehicle parking at the group campsite - you'll be able to unload and load, but during your stay, your vehicle will have to be in a lot several hundred meters (flat gravel road) away.

Please see our lodging information page for more details on all hotel blocks and camping.

Since there is no vehicle parking at the group site, I elected to grab the (apparently) last remaining regular campsite at Hueston Woods for Fri-Tue (they're not allowing any stays starting or ending on Monday due to the eclipse). Site rules allow two vehicles and up to 6 persons - so if anyone wants to share the site - send me a message.

I've updated a few links on the lodging page to other area campgrounds, and also added a few details on the event info page.

Does the group site have access to showers?

clint, room for my vehicle?

Group site does not have showers. There are primitive (pit) toilets only. I’m pretty sure that you are supposed to be registered in the modern campground to use the showers there, although you could probably just walk in.

There seem to be plenty of electric campsites at Hueston Woods. Finding a flat one for a tent may be trickier. The map is not much help.

Most of the sites are adequately flat, especially along the outer edges. I’d personally avoid the pull-throughs, although most of them have enough space too.. You can also look at the permanent course map of the campground area (linked from event website as a practice map) which might give you a better idea. I had heard a couple months ago that the sites in the regular campground were mostly booked. Good if there are still sites available.

What are the start times going to be for Friday? Looking to figure out travel plans. Tia

mikeminium:
Friday start times will be 2-4 pm. We generally will allow people to start after 4 if they were running late due to traffic, etc, but the course closing time will remain 2 hours after the last scheduled start slot, so you must finish by 6:00 pm.

The full weekend schedule is posted at the Event Information Page. From there, follow the "Race Details" link for course length and climb info.

any tornadoes in either park?

mikeminium:
So far so good, we are under tornado watch for another half hour but the worst seems to be past. Lots of flood watches, things will be really soupy tomorrow but hopefully starting to dry out by the weekend.

Splits are posted to Attackpoint.

Official results will be posted on our website in the Flying Pig Results Pages. But for now, unofficial results are here:

They'll disappear when we use those same links at our next local event.
