Hello! I'm course directing the 2024 US Radio-O Champs and need to get a website up soon. Does anyone have a great suggestion for a super easy platform for putting together a simple event website that doesn't require computer programming?

I'm not a programmer so looking for something painless but professional looking even if it requires some out-of-pocket cost on my part.

Here are a couple sites I'm looking at as good examples for what I'm shooting for:

https://ardf2022.eu/

https://cal-o-fest.com/

I tried using WordPress already but am getting super frustrated as I can't seem to figure it out.

Since this will be an event site I just need to do things like post bulletins, event info, post links to registration (probably will use the OUSA reg system), post results, and have scrolling feeds for the event social media page.

Appreciate any suggestions in advance!

Or maybe even just a Google Doc like OK & PTOC use for the Possum Trot — https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sRT5tsJWFQt_00...

You could reach out to the two sites you mentioned that you like and ask them what they used, if they could provide you with a template, inquire about hiring their website designer, etc.

Is there a club associated with hosting the event? Could you use a single page on their existing website? You could still get a unique domain that points to that page if you really wanted to. I don't think every event needs its own website (even though I'm guilty of doing just that with Southwest Spring Week), but if you really want something easy you could go with blogger.com.

Affiliated OUSA club uses whyjustrun.ca for low effort maintenance. Does not look like fancy scrolly typical modern websites of Vector’s vision at least in its default form, though maybe one could juice up a page enough to cover some needs. Vector if you want to demo that give a shout, worst case it temporarily dupes and eventually refers to your final solution

There is actually a radio orienteering club on WJR (based in BC I think) that might be happy to help create a page for the event. Not sure how active they are https://ardf.whyjustrun.ca/pages/94

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I decided to use google doc to make a PDF in the interim until I can get an actual website up.

I use wix.com for a site about a yearly event not related to orienteering. It's pretty easy to use, within its limitations, but I didn't set it up originally, so I don't know how hard that is.
