The mystery control that was removed from the competition course was on the edge of a swamp. Control setter decided that it was not appropriate. The approach required knee-deep walking into swamp land. The terrain was much drier when scouted, flagged, vetted. Mother 131 pic.twitter.com/3xL66miRzT

I think I'd prefer you set it in the swamp than in the middle of a briar patch.

Actually when I chose not to put out that control, I saw two possible routes to it. One was through an intensely thick briar patch and into the swamp. The other was just through the swamp. Brian, I'm sure you found enough briars at some of the other controls.
