Stopped by, saw your 'walking on beach' in January, then on Block Island, an old friend. We visited Block in 2015, rented a scooter. A fun place and a fine day. Two photos to share -

2.
Were there any seals out on the point when you were there, Bob?
Last time I was on Block Island we saw some
animals that were more unlikely than seals.
We saw a couple of camels (and kangaroos, and lemurs...) when we were there, at the farm across the street from where we stayed (with the same name). I mentioned to Nancy that you used to have neighbors on Ratlum Mountain who had camels, and I thought there was some connection to Block Island. Do those camels belong to the people I met at a party near your place?
I think not. Asked Beth, she agrees. We'd remember if there was probably even one, particularly given the beach's relatively small size.
Yes, likely you met them, but the couple divorced quite some time ago. We stayed in touch with the husband for a while. The wife took up with another fellow of our acquaintance, maybe took him out to Block Island. They had bought property here that they thought would be a camel refuge, but they never made the move, and the property has changed hands a few times since then.
We didn't see any seals, either, but the staff at the inn said that seals frequently hang out there.
I had remembered (perhaps incorrectly) that your erstwhile neighbors had dromedaries, but what we saw at the 1661 Farm were Bactrian camels. I'm not skilled enough to tell which is in your picture.
The ones we saw were furiously chomping on the boards of their wooden enclosure fence.
That certainly seems to be the place our friends kept their camels
