Nice to hear. I am always amazed at how many people (particularly older men) encourage me when l run, even if l am super slow and puffy.
The hwy is nicer in the other direction. But same problem, downhill all the way out...uphill all the way back
I didnt go the other the way I did as I know coming back is quite steep. Thought going the way I did would be flattish. Ha.
Weird, I've never had encouragement headed in my direction when cycling. Perhaps it's because I usually wear lycra.
Once had someone pull up next to me at traffic lights and open their window - I was expecting "get off the f***ing road you f***ing c***" or some similar unpleasantries, but what I actually got was "you have really good calves" (the calves in question are enlarged as a result of compartment syndrome surgery about 20 years back).
I've had occasional encouragement while cycling in lycra! I also enjoy surprising people by giving them encouragement while driving past, because they always think it will be abuse (for good reason).
