In the magical majestic forest of Foresta Umbra under umbrellas of beeches, far from beach heat there was plenty of heat of competition! Pity the karst pits. Of the 31 U.S. participants, the following qualified for the Middle Final:
M45: Wyatt Riley, Vladimir Gusiatnikov
M60: Sergey Velichko, Joe Brautigam, Tapio Karras, Tom Hollowell, Stefan Slutsky, Andras Revesz
M75: Charlie DeWeese
W40: Erin Nielsen
W45: Marie-Josée Parayre
W50: Angelica Riley
W60: Pavlina Brautigam
W75: Sharon Crawford
This is far more than for the Sprint, almost half! Tomorrow is going to be even more majestic. A perfect map.
Very nice. I'll get results summarized later today..
Any Canadians do well? I think Nick Duca is racing?
@ Nev . Today was a very technical area, and lots of mistakes for majority. I did a major mistake near the end, and managed still to make the A final. Also Val and Sevastian made the first half (Val tripped a nd injured her knee and Sevastian is fighting a cold ( and it's close to 30 degrees here). Beside orienteering _ lots of other great time here
Congrats Nick. We missed you and Val and Sevastian at the COCs. Hope we will see you at the Quebec/ Eastern Canadian Championships on Labour Day Weekend in the Cowansville/ Sutton area of Quebec. (Pretty sure it won't be 30 degrees)
Also Ottawa O-Fest Sept 24-5. (Definitely won't be 30 degrees unless maybe if we switch to fahrenheit)
