Hi all, the Spring Park-O Thursday Series (SPOTS) is wrappping up this week (Thursday of course) at Pine Banks in Malden.

For those able to attend we have the picnic/BBQ area reserved so I encourage you to bring food and beverages of your choice for afterwards.

For those of you not planning to attend - I am hoping that you can help me with some novel award names.
With SPOTS as the series name there must be some good or truly awful puns to be had in the prizes. Perhaps I could crowdsource some suggestions??

To provide some examples:
1st place overall: Top SPOT seems obvious. @VeganKeegan, @MORIenteer and @EChild all have a shot at the Top SPOT

1st place on short course: SPOT light? Hot SPOT?

1st woman - WTF (Women's Top Finisher) - you can see I need help with the SPOT theme already?

Some other categories:
SPOT prize - 42nd place?
Soft SPOT?
LEOPARD SPOT (Need an acronym for LEOPARD?

"Son spots" are bonus points for father/son teams.
"Hot spots" are controls that are worth double points.

Thanks for weighing in. I asked a few folks for input at this morning's NEOC event in the Blue Hills.
The best option I heard was:
Train SPOTter - someone who regularly ends up running with others - Pack running as WinSplits would describe it.

LEOPARD = law enforcement officer participating at reduced distance

Senior runners may be awarded "Liver Spots"

This stuff is good! Thanks for the laughs. Best I can come up with is that the comments were SPOT on.

Johnny-on-the-SPOTS

X-marks the SPOTS = 10th place or ...?

a medical site lists pimples as a type of Spots ... Pimple award to outstanding improved or up and coming Teen orienteer?

Sun SPOTS = stellar performance

Hits the SPOTS = most error free performance? or heartwarming contribution (though that might be soft SPOTS) or ...

Though soft or tough spots might go to course completion despite challenge like Chris with nosebleed @ Edmands

SPOTS cleaner = person who consistently participated, but like in baseball near the end of the order batting cleanup

Connect the SPOTS = outreach and bringing others in award? or consistent attendance or most courses completed or ...

Open SPOTS = ______ ?

SPOTSed = like spotted ... community Education/training

I nominate myself for the Stripes award ... showed up to all the SPOTS and yet didn't accumulate 1 point lol (:

Fire spotter = 2nd place?

Tight spot = tie or closest two competitors

Big little or Little big SPOTS = parent child (Son spots is clever but know there were additional parent child combos too so additional category potentially needed)

Unblemished = best attendance performance combination? most error free overall or particular performance or ...

Sweet SPOTs = Sara Mae for bringing cookies ^_^

Ink SPOTS = Orienteer who really made their mark

Lady Macbeth: Yet here's a spot. ... Lady Macbeth: Out, damn'd spot! out, I say! [maybe another candidate for Chris @ Edmands or Bridget @ Magazine]

SPOTS the difference = greatest performance range difference?

Thanks DLandrigan - some great additions there.
I think you are in the running for the SPOTless award rather than the Stripes award - same reason though:-)
I think I may have to use the Sweet SPOT for Sara Mae
and SPOT cleaner might be Larry B for being the last one there.

Tight SPOT seems like a good joint award too.

Muchas Gracias - Last call for entries in this set of SPOTty award categories?

SPOTSify [spotify] = award for doing a course [playlist] on random/shuffle [mispunch most creatively or ...?]

@bshields ... the Email from Ian Jun 5 10;42 PM is the latest standings I am aware of, not sure if elsewhere
