Discussion: Friend of yours?

One of the entrants at the Dwellingup MTBO event in WA today.

Not someone I know. There's more of us around than you might expect (the fact that the original settler family had a double-digit number of children probably has something to do with that).

At one stage back when I was younger than I am today the only Thackrays you could find in the Perth phone book were my grandparents, my dad and his brothers (his sisters both having changed last names). These days there are all my cousins and dozens of Thackrays who I don't know as being related to me although they probably are in some distant fashion.

I do have a cousin in Perth, but like me he grew up in Canberra and subsequently moved.
