I can ride my own bike up Mount St thanks.
I think it was 46/32 so still a lower gear than anything tRicky would have on his road bike.
My TCR is a 53/39 so pretty harsh but that's now set up on the windtrainer (for all those virtual road rides I do). The Trek is a 50/34 and I'd sit in BCR on up to 6 or 7% but anything steeper and I'd drop to the SCR. I used to only ride in BCR on all the Perth hills (on the TCR before I had the Trek) and I think that's what made me strong on climbs but also probably what caused my early knee problems. Doubt I ever rode up Mount St in BCR unless I was being stupid.
