Mr Wonderful:
The course looks really hard, and your two mistakes were at the same controls as the race winner...that's pretty good company! Plus after #4 you went and then nailed everything pretty clean, in the estimation of your fan club.

Your formative years were not spent in anything similar, with that crazy amount of climb, relatively little other topography than "huge hill" and then massively black maps. I'd still be staring at a map with a magnifier at #2.

Also, any thoughts about relative time should be in consideration of the outlier at the top.

I picked up watching GPS at #5 or so and thought it looked pretty good from there. Did you see Hubmann go by you in the vicinity of #6? Common legs through there and he appeared to be very close to you watching both GPS live shots. There were also a whole lot of you searching in the circle at 11 and it appeared that you were first to emerge from that grouping though the others ultimately got ahead of you. But keeping in mind this was a World Champs final and who you were competing with I thought it was a well fought race.

Thanks Jens :)

Clint: I did - he flew past on the downhill as I was leaving 6. I saw Tove in the qualifiers too. Really neat to see all these elite orienteers in the woods! Feel free to post my map.

I so much enjoyed cheering for you from home!!! Thought you had a really solid run especially since the top placing teams have had a lot of time in woc relevant terrain! So the playing field I feel has been more unfair this year than normal in that respect. I get though that feeling of disappointment, woc is a hard event in regards to expectations. But just know we all thought that was a solid final and looking forward to being back racing with you I hope really soon!

Congrats on your runs! It’s difficult to race hard twice in one day, and you still had a really solid result. Great job!
