So, now after several years, I'm looking at your livetracking app again. I've got a site to host it, but where/what are the apps that phones would use?

you should have something like this, but on your server.

android gps logger app isn't at goole store at the moment, it is here
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.mendhak.gpslog...

traccar should work both ios and android. But mendhak gps logger is excellent app. One got to have that installed anyway.

Ahhh okay. I'll play around with these then.

Thank you for making yet another fun program for us to use.

I have that embedded in my AP log page, but I haven't tried that for a long time. Possibly not at all with my current phone. I'll try that today, some gravel/mtb tracking.

Email me if you have troubles with setting it up. And you can play with the instance on my host too if you like.

Ywsterday it did dot work so well, because I had 4G enabled. Today only 3G/2G and it worked fine. with 4G internet connection gets lost too often, long timeouts or something makes it not that reliable. 2g/3g is fast enough and is more reliable.

Hmm, interesting. I'm not sure right now how to deactivate my phone's 4G connection. I'll look into it.

Maybe it doesn't matter for you if you already have got 5G injecetd. Anyway, I have noticed troubles when phone is barely in 4g and reverst back to 3g, or is barely on 3g and revets back to 2g. And performance is best when I make it stay in a low enough mode so that works all the time without having to switch modes (after failure/timeouts).

Hahahah, it sounds like I won't have access to my 5G, unfortunately.

Ok, so it's when it switches. That could be a significant problem here with the very inconsistent data coverage on many of our maps.

I'll try playing around with it then.

I think 5G is larger than 4G, so clotting wise 4G is must be safer in vains. And sticking to the 2G/3G may be the smartest move.
