May I suggest that you press the doctor to have an MRI taken? That will reveal any disc damage as well as any stenosis that could be impinging on the nerve and creating sciatica pain.

They say chicken pom can fix anything. But who knows. Maybe it can not fix this. Best wishes for an effective solution!

I suspect he's mispronouncing "chicken parm", though how you mispronounce something like that while typing is beyond me. And who knows, maybe he does mean chicken pom, whatever that is. POM is a brand of pomegranate juice, and there are various recipes for "chicken pom poms" on the web. And this seems to actually be chicken pom, though I wouldn't have expected Swampfox to be well-versed in the cuisine of Suriname.

This sounds similar to what Nadim has had. He had leg pains so bad one night that he contemplated calling 911 (he didn't tell me that until later). It ended up being a nerve problem between his disks. (As I recall, parts of the bone had broken off and were irritating the nerve, though I could be wrong about that.) After several months of some exercising/stretching and hoping it would get better, he finally had surgery. That provided immediate relief. The second time he didn't wait to get the surgery.

That is what I have... the L4 nerve, which runs over the hip across the thigh to the inner part of knee, and then down the calf,,, I now because I have felt pain along that whole way... Seems to be improving though, and I assume that since there was an xray, there are no broken parts to report.

Best of luck Jeff! Hope it continues to improve.

I hope you recover fast! When I had my L4 herniated disk, the PT strongly advised not to do sit ups - supposedly they aggravate the lower back. I have not done them since (6 years now). I do stretching with bands instead.

Chicken Pom...> sautéed chicken pieces between two layers of raw, grated pomtajer, mixed with citrus juice and a sauce made from oil and/or margarine, onions, tomatoes, salt, pepper and nutmeg, baked in an oven until the pom becomes golden brown.<
that sounds pretty good actually.. If Swampfox serves this up, I'll gladly stop by....
