The US Team Trials for the 2021 World O Champs will be held in the Washington, DC, area on 7-9 May (outside chance of 8-10 May). While the details and venues for the sprint and middle races are still TBD, the long race will be held in conjunction with the QOC local event at Fountainhead West.
The sprint and middle will likely allow a small number of non-Team Trialers to run the courses for a small fee.
More information will be forthcoming when we have more details to share.
There will also be a trials event in Europe for our European-based Team members; currently this is planned to be the Czech WOC selection races organized by WOC, 4-6 June.
Very excited for this. Thank you, Peggy and QOC!
"You must believe the thesis of The Fountainhead .... That thesis is not just fiction ...: man must act on his own judgment. ... There is no other way to do anything well in any sphere of life and certainly not in this case. If you compromise and then hope to make a success of the Fountainhead by acting in a way exactly opposed to the way it teaches it is the Fountainhead itself that will defeat you. And that would be ironic and tragic."Source
Are the Friday-Sunday dates finalized? Getting excited for this!
Awaiting permitting info; may know more tomorrow. But it’s a very good bet that the dates are 7-9 May.
Ramp down your enthusiasm a bit; these will be glorified local events (with great competition ... that’s probably the part you’re excited for).
Well, that and three days of orienteering organized by someone else!
I'm waiting for final approval for the middle venue, but hope to put together (and post) the details soon. Sprint is confirmed for Friday afternoon, 7 May. It should be very fast and fun (not even close to a medieval city though!).
Awesome! I'm super excited, it sounds like they'll be some really high-quality races! Just hoping I have the speed for em' :-D
