Hey Jarkko,

I'd love to set up RG for GrizzlyOrienteering. I am sure I've seen guides on setting it up, but I can't find one right now. Can you point me to the process for getting it going? Also, do we need a dedicated server for it - the GrizO page is currently just hosted by Wix. Thanks!!

Hmm. RG is stone age, It's just barely younger than the internet. Not sure is it that old clumsy thing something to introduce these days really. Sure, if it has been in use and folks are used to it, then there may not be much hurry to replace it, but a new for a audience - I don't know. Sure if you think it is the way to go then I can look up something.

While figuring what to do you can always at wix page set up simple links to map images with courses. So people can overlay, animate and compare (drag drop there two gpx files and press compare button) their own gpx files and freinds if they get their hands on others gpx files. https://map.routegadget.net/?basemap=1&zoom=15...

When animation is running right click to restart animation anywhere. And you can screen capture animations and share it as video file in social media.

Also you can put gpx file in a zip, upload it to dropbox and link t up like this:
https://map.routegadget.net/?zoom=13&zipurl=ht...
(you can combine thatt with overlay map image)

or link AP sessions like this https://map.routegadget.net/?basemap=2&zoom=14...

Then I have the system Yƶkuppi uses (and Helsingin Suunnistajat and some other clubs), originally written for live tracking but it works just fine for post race play too. People just need to get and upload their gpx file. No manual route drawing with mouse. But that will not run on wix. That's php script, easier to set you than RG and less server features needed (cheaper server will do) but still needs a server.

Thank you!

I am certainly open to ideas for RG alternatives.

So if I want to try that first option you linked, where would I upload the map/course file?
