map doctor:
I have just posted a couple of foot orienteering courses on UsylingO. They start at Money Rocks County Park, in far eastern Lancaster County.

Creating the maps and looking at the park has helped keep me busy and outside, this last couple of months. The courses are not particularly difficult orienteering, really sort of advanced mid level. The maps are not full featured, but the courses are set with the limited map features in mind.

There are some interesting features as you might see if you go. Certainly worth a morning.

Your comments are welcome.

Here is the link to the maps, control descriptions and notes. Enjoy the parks if you go. Be safe out there.

Can you tell us the scale and contour interval? They seem to have been cut off.

Awesome! I hope these will still be available when we finally get to travel again. The magic of Usynligo...

A few of us did these on Sunday - just one comment - using property/boundary lines as control points is probably not the best idea. This is not a part of the county where I want to accidentally end up in someone's backyard. There are also additional boundaries out there that are marked in the terrain but aren't mapped. After looking on GIS, I determined they are between county owned and conservancy owned land. I was thrown off by encountering these before I reached the mapped property line because I wasn't about to cross a marked boundary.
