Designing Experiential Education: An Orienteering ExampleThe Challenge: teach kids to orienteer using experiential methods
In this workshop, we'll do orienteering remotely and each in their own neighborhoods. We then deconstruct orienteering to determine learning goals, then build a curriculum that is experiential, delivered outdoors, physically healthy, socially engaging, and fun. Our programs build STEM skills, starting with reasoning and observation. We'll discuss mix-ins and missions like environmental science and sustainability. Anyone can take the curriculum and implement it.
Each participant brings their teaching problems to the table, and we create experiential solutions.
