So apparently they've recreated the U. C. Berkeley campus pretty accurately in Minecraft.
I know there's other "virtual O" programs, but it made me wonder if anyone's tried O in Minecraft.
There's a pretty good ISSOM map of the U.C. Berkeley campus, and one could create flags in Minecraft at the University of Blockley.
There are some people in Australia setting up a Minecraft event for the sixth! There is info in the events section...
I do like the ISSOM Berkeley map, I got to run there once. :-)
We are planning a series, so if you'd like to work together on making an event with the UC Berkeley campus that would be awesome! We just had the first one yesterday.
If you go to
spurposting.com/minecraft you can check out the info for our event and a short video about the model event. Unfortunately, we did not record the livestream but we will be making a video of the course.
I'll reach out to our local club BAOC and find out if anyone has the "bandwidth" to take this on - I'm a school teacher, and online schoolteaching is way more work!
We have already figured out all the technical work with placing controls and timing, so there wouldn't be much on the end of BAOC. Probably just to provide the map and share info.
Inquired about providing the map.
Evalin_B BAOC is on board, so you can email maps@baoc.org and they will hook you up with the U.C. Berkeley OCAD.
