Thank you Boris. Obvs it doesn’t affect me but I am interested in hearing about it.
Not surprising but too bad.

The word I have from our university sports body is that all FISU (International University Sports) events until September have been cancelled.

It's a pity. Brave, undefeated Highlanders bringing a young American to Smoleńska Mgła to compete at a World Champs - that was a story for Hollywood

So the world orienteering community will not be contributing to the Russian economy, ie, providing fuel they could would use to (again) screw with one of the most important elections in the history of the USA...

I'm heartbroken

I've a copy of the FISU letter,

cancellation of the following 2020 World University Championships:
•American Football from 4 to 14 June in Székesfehérvár (HUN)
•Cycling from 10 to 14 June in Nijmegen (NED)
•Handball from 15 to 21 June in Lodz (POL)
•Golf from 17 to 20 June in Taichung (TPE)
•Beach Volleyball from 23 to 27 June in Torremolinos (ESP)
•Floorball from 24 to 28 June in Koper (SLO)
•Triathlon from 27 to 28 June in Kecskemet (HUN)
•Sailing form 30 June to 4 July in Campione del Garda (ITA)
•Wushu from 11 to 14 July in Liaoyang (CHN)
•Orienteering from 14 to 18 July in Smolensk (RUS)
•Futsal from 19 to 26 July in Poznan (POL)
•Squash from 17 to 23 July in Shanghai (CHN)
•Muaythai from 17 to 23 August in Nur-Sultan (KAZ)

There were no host cities for Rowing and Sambo, they are gone too.

There was a line in there about looking into possibly rescheduling some of the events, but that it will be dependent on the Olympics.

Incorporate it into the Olympics, easy peasy
