You must have tough standards. I can't see Tori Borish not being elite and Julia Doubson not being at least one level higher. Ms Doubson has been winning national titles for about seven years now. I guess you all REALLY have to earn what you get in O-USA. Good for you.

It's always a tough line to draw, Gord. We agree both women had some very impressive results (as did several other athletes). We plan to look at all the athletes after the spring or summer and promote those who we feel have performed at a higher level.

I do not see Cat Dealer on the Team! What is going on??

Cat Dealer did probably not apply to be on team. Some may have other priorities or plans for 2020.

Cat Dealer had not applied. He will be submitting an application very soon, however.

I just want to point out that the three groups on the Team are not a strict hierarchy, which many people may not realize. That is, Performance is not "higher" than Development (though, yes, Elite is "highest"). The difference between P & D is not ability or performance, but future potential. We have previously seen and expect to see in the future some of the D athletes make it to the Elite level, some perhaps even bypassing P.

I'm curious, other than title and recognition, are there any differences between being named to the different teams? Differences in levels of support, etc.?

Congrats, athletes!

Thank you, committee, for your continued hard work with this.

Canadian: thanks for your interest! There are a few differences, perhaps most notably that when we have travel funds, there is a different percent people can receive based on their tier.

Thank you to the committee for your behind the scenes work! A great service to the team and to the US orienteering community!

Thanks for clarifying the Performance/Development distinction.

I'm pleased to announce that Peter Zakrevski has been named to the Sr. Development Team. (A week or two back .. sorry for the delay.)
Congratulations and welcome Peter!
