Hi guys,

I want to organize an orienteering race in which competitors have a mass start and some mandatory control points that they have to punch in a concrete order. Besides that, they have optional control points that they can punch, and for each punched optional control, they decrease their race time with the control value (e.g. with control 31, they get a 3 minute credit, with control 41 they get a 4 minute credit). And the race winner will be the one which race time is lower.

The issue is that I see no way to configure aither OEscore or OE2010 for these concrete rules? Do you have any clue of how would I make it?

Thanks!!!!

Probably see what is possible with the results software before you make race rules.

Geco might be able possibly to configure something similar to what you are after but it has been a while since I have looked at it. Time credits aren't a common thing in results config functions.

Or sharpen up your pencil.

IIRC, MeOS allows mixed point-to-point and score controls, but I don't think there would be a way to directly do the time deductions.

Except for the time credits, it sounds like Thomass format, which is popular in Canada.

MeOS + Excel?

MeOS is supposed to let you add code to do things like this, but I've never gotten very far with it.

Sounds like the format for an an adventure race I once set up. We used Autodownload, now SITiming

Controls can be defined as mandatory linear or optional free order with a time bonus (plus numerous other options, but these look like the types you require).
