I've been there and done that, but as you say it´s not as interesting any more.
About ten years ago I got into this thing about doing XC ski 'races' every year. Usually 30K and 45K but my wife and I also did the Marcialonga 70K in Italy twice.
Last year was no skiing at all (well three short outings) but now I wait for the first snow to see what skiing will be like with a new knee.
Looks like you´re having a fine time in Silverstar from the pics I´ve seen on Instagram.
