I don't know who's going where, but I just bought airfare for the Anza-Borrego and Tucson A-Meets in January and February.

My itinerary:

Arrive San Diego: Fri Jan 18th, 8:45pm
Depart San Diego: Mon Jan 21st, 6:40pm

Arrive Phoenix: Fri Feb 22th, 7:05am
Depart Phoenix: Mon Feb 25th, 6:05am

(I'm flying in and out of Phoenix because Southwest doesn't have any cheap of convenient fares to Tucson... I've been waiting. Also, since I'll be in Arizona an extra night... any recommendations for Sunday post-race?)

I'm not going back to Anza Borego; not sure what Mike is doing.

We're considering both Texas and Arizona, but we're patiently waiting for Cristina to decide if there will be a training camp, before we book our flights. Once she makes up her mind, we'll decide what we're doing those two weekends.

Don't forget that there is an OKer living in Tuscon, who might have a few suggestions...

Anza-Borrego was so nice two years ago after 33 consecutive days (1 measly day short of the record!) of rain in Seattle. Plus, I'm looking forward to an A-meet where I can actually use my 20/20 vision to see things, as opposed to seeing just the greenbriars in front of me!

Yeah, I'll talk to Mook about things to do in AZ. We've been emailing a lot lately about the new OK o-suits.

I won't be going to Texas, especially with the Sprint-O Training Camp in Vancouver that weekend. I know there should be a strong Seattle contingent in Texas with Interscholastics.

I'm likely to go to these two meets and will at least be around for the Tucson meet. I don't live especially close to the meet site (probably 60-85 minutes of driving). However, talk to me if you think you'd like to stay at my place or use the shower there at one point or another. There isn't a whole lot to do in places like Sonoita, the little inhabited town closest to the map. It's not much more than a couple of convenience stores, a hardware store, a few gas stations and (or so I'm told) some kind of "eatery". I don't think they even have fish burritos down there for crying out loud! If you want a fish burrito after you run, you will probably have to get back to the OP or order one special delivery.

Southwest tends to be expensive flying in and out of Tucson from what I've seen. The phoenix airport drive probably adds 110 minutes or so when traffic is tolerable, so it isn't terrible. Just watch out for the SUVs along I-10... phoenecians don't play well with others.

There are some things to do in the area, but mostly I just work, train, eat and sleep so may not be the most knowledgable about such things. The desertusa.com website would have info relevant to the areas around A-B as well as the OP.

I've not heard anything about a training camp, so don't know what that's about. Of course I'm usually out of the loop.
