The closest the U.S. men have ever been to the top teams was in Hungary in 1983...until today. The U.S. men just finished in 140 minute, about 22 minutes behind the winners. That is the best a U.S. men's team has ever done (they could have been three minutes slower and still done as well as the 1983 team in Hungary).

They're listed now as disqualified. I guess orginally they were posted then the punches were checked and the DQ was discovered. What a shame -- the runs did look very good. Good to see the women did better than most recent years, ahead of Canada, Japan, several other teams, with a fine run by Erin.
