Discussion: Imported Australian event dates incorrect

I've noticed that several recent Australian events in AP, which look like they are being auto-imported from Orienteering Australia's Eventor, are stated as being held the day before they actually are, eg, https://attackpoint.org/eventdetail.jsp/event_4112... was actually on 19 May not 18 May as AP states.

Not sure whether this is a bug report (timezone handling error) or a feature request (displaying event dates according to local time for the event)! Or perhaps it's Eventor's fault. What do you think, Ken?

I've brought this up with Ken on previous occasions and I'm sure he's looking into it!

Also possibly related is that some events do not seem to get imported into AP at all even though they have all the relevant info (including the arena).

I have the same problem importing the same data on another site. I haven't got around to looking at it yet, but I suspect that Eventor may have altered something time-zone related. For a while I had a related problem uploading results because it was checking that start times weren't before the time it thought the event started at. Let's all move to GMT+10 and have done with it :)

The imported AP dates should be fixed now, at least for future events. Let me know if any still seem wrong.

I think the issue is that when there is no start time, the Eventor feed specifies a midnight start (but converted to GMT), and then if you convert back to the wrong time zone you end up with 2300 the day before. Or something like that.
