I did some looking at past results and here is what I found.

Peter "the Great" Gagarin now has 20 age group wins going back to 1976! Ruth Johnson is right behind with 19.

Those in double digits:
Peter Gagarin 20
Rugh Johnson 19
Sharon Crawford 17
Gail Gagarin 15
Mikell Platt 15
Al Smith 14
Allmuth Perzel 11

The longest current streak belongs to Sharon Crawford with 6 wins. The next best is Karen Strat with 3. Watch for Karen in the future as she is only 17.

Mikell "The Swampfox" Platt has the most open wins with 13. Sharon Crawford is close behind with 11.

Top 5 with most open wins:
Mikell Platt 13
Sharon Crawford 11
Pavlina Brautigam 5
Peggy Dickison 5
Peter Gagarin 5

The closest race this weekend was in M50 with Eric Weyman beating Dave Linthicum by 7 seconds over the two days. Looking at the splits it looks like something happened to Dave in the final finish chute.

I found the finish confusing. But after 8 minutes of errrors on #10 and #13 (GreenX), those 5-7 seconds mattered little.

On the map, I did not see the curved red dashes next to the black dashed trail. From GO, I glanced at compass, saw a purple streamer ahead and ran to follow it. A teen ager pointed and nicely said, "Follow that one." I ran back to the pennants, ducked under, and finished.

The purple streamers were the out-of-bounds streamers leaving the finish area. Continuing along the streamers would have led to a really weird approach to the finish area.

I also followed the purple streamers to where they ended. Then executed the weird approach to the finish punches, which involved ducking under the streamer and hurdling the pennants.
