As of right now, we have completed six of the seven races of Sprint Camp. The best four results count toward the overall win, but the final race is worth double!

Tomorrow's schedule involves 6 races, a seeding race and then 5 heats where the top half moves forward, the bottom half moves back. The final heat is the race that counts double in the points!

Coming into the final day, we've got a close run in the 1-point category:
Peter Z: 360
Mike K: 340
Ethan Childs: 320

In the 2-point category, Izzy B and Evalin B are in a near tie, separated by 3 points, with Izzy barely ahead.

Sverre F leads the 3-point category by a mere 1 point over Pam J, with Steve T and Cheryl S close behind.

What will tomorrow bring?!? Stay tuned...

Today was a jam-packed day of head-to-head sprints, in a bracket format. The racers first ran a seeding race, then five more heats of races, to determine the overall winners. The final race was incredibly close, with Mike Kondro beating out Ethan Childs by 1 second for the win. This also cinched it for the overall Sprint Camp Champ, as Ethan ended up tied for second with Peter Zakrevski, who rolled his ankle in the final round of racing today and jogged it in. Had Ethan beaten Mike, he would have won the overall! It's always exciting to have such a closely matched race through all the battles.

There was also a tight race for spots 3-5, with Philippe barely edging out Keegan and Mattias. However, Keegan's speedy run in the final today cinched him the win in the 2-pt category, just ahead of Evalin and Izzy, respectively.

Kristin Hall had a clear lead over her competitors in the 3-pt category at the end of all this, but Cheryl, Bridget, and Pam were all within 12 points. And, since the ladies in the 3-pt category beat all the men in that category, I figured I'd better add a 4-pt category, for the good-looking geezers. Steve Tarry took the win by 10 points, ahead of Ken and then Phil, who were separated by only 4 points.

Great fun to have that much head-to-head racing, and everyone left with a smile on their face. Pencil in Sprint Camp for next year, second weekend of June!
