Discussion: $500 prize at Mad Otter.. Late fee kicks in on the 10th

On May 10th, the late fee for this race kicks in so be sure to register soon. I guess if you plan on winning the $500 Bounty offered to the first person or team to clear the 12 hour course, it will not matter since that will easily make up the difference. This race features a Long Orange, Long Green, Long Blue followed by a 50 point Rogaine all Otter Creek Park which is bounded by Fort Knox on the East and the Ohio River to the North. The Mad Otter

The late fee has been kicked off the menu, so all you procrastinators can say TY. No need to sign up until May 17th. Possibly live tracking on this one. Mass start in a race for the $. Also changing the requirement of the Trail Race to complete the 12 hour course.

Looks like OUSA is down so procrastinators cannot register. Could be something to do about the giant hack yesterday? I will extend the registration if necessary but the deadline is looming

OUSA site is okay, but EventReg (separate folder) has an expired security certificate. I've notified the folks who handle that so maybe it'll be taken care of later today.

(You could indicate on your website an alternate way to register and pay, like in the old days....)

The problem with offering alternative registration, is that those registrants will eventually have to be entered into EventReg -- by the registrar...

If they are scared of the expired certificate they could send a check but the real problem is that Google Chrome and other sites really make it hard to figure out how to pass the security details and you can only get there if you look at the small details on the Big Scary Warning. And as GuyO pointed out, more manual entry is a royal pain. JanetT : Also putting something on the Mad Otter Webpage would help but they still need to get all the info in as there are quite a few options in this race.

The person who needs to deal with it will do so tomorrow. You may still choose to extend your deadline a couple days.
