Rootstock Racing is excited to finally confirm that we will have access to a truly unique and exciting feature for 2017’s Crooked Compass Adventure Trek. Paralleling the well-traveled PA Turnpike are the remnants of an old interstate. This year’s course will not only cross and travel along sections of this abandoned highway, but the mandatory route will also bring racers through an abandoned four lane tunnel, stretching over a mile under the mountains of central PA. We had a blast exploring the woods of Buchanan State Forest, but the tunnel really is a special treat unlike anything we’ve seen in over 100 races as racers and directors. Come check it out with us this March; see you in the woods!

Gotta convince all 'em Saint Patrick fans that are booking 'emselves to attend the parade festivities and green beer rendezvous. Always a struggle to find a few good men and women to go in the wilderness in the quest to find 'em white-and-orange orienteering flag checkpoints

Solos are welcome!

We're also happy to put together a list of nearby (or, likely, "nearby") bars serving green beer, for a pre-race pint or post-race celebration :)
