Discussion: Traverse results

Results are on the NEOC website along with winsplits and route gadget. Unfortunately, there were two bad controls, 107 and 126, which means four missing splits. 107 was just deleted from the course, so that split goes from #6 to #8 (#1 to #3 for the Mini-Traverse.) 126 just shows as a missing split for everyone (on winsplits) and most (on AP splits).

Most unfortunately, as it stands now, route gadget shows many dnf'ing at #26. So i'm not sure whether it's possible to upload tracks to it. Maybe someone knows how to fix the split file? But I don't, and won't even try.

I think you (actually Jim, probably, since he has the computer) can just delete that control from the list of control numbers in the Or program, and then upload the course again to RG. Maybe? When we found out that 107 was bad, I just took it out and the DNF's went away.

Of course that's plan B. Plan A is Valerie. She can probably do it right in RG in about 30 seconds. :-)

Send me the or file and I'll have a go. Was the one control not working and the other one had a wonky time in it?

107 was apparently just beeping away on its own and not recording any times.

126 was fine as far as Or was concerned, the final time that is, but the split printer wasn't functioning so we weren't aware of any problem with it. The splits for 126 didn't make it to AP either.

Data is on Jim P's (NEOC's) laptop.

Thanks Valerie! I'll e-mail you. I suggested to Jim what Peter said for RG, but haven't heard back.

Looks like 126 was out of time sync - likely an earlier time then the previous control. People who were slower got a split on AP, albeit 6 seconds or a bit more.

It looks like the splits and RG will have to stay as they are in their slightly defective state. But it's still possible to put your routes on RG to compare with others.

So since 126 was reporting a value that was off by about 6:50 on the start time and was apparently being noted by Or to give approval of a finish time on the course, was the time stored in an internal file, then just not printed out because of the relative time ordering? Is the data file available in such a way that one could go in and correct the start time for the 126 control for everyone, and then have the software go to town on the corrected data? Or did Or just throw away the time because it apparently wasn't appropriate?

The split file produced by OR didn't record the negative times. I have no idea if they are stored by OR since I don't have the computer (and I don't want Jim to have to spend more time on this).

Or stores most -- maybe all -- event data in csv files in a .../Or/nn folder, where nn is an internal index number based on the number of Or events that have been created or imported on a specific computer.
