As one of the course designers I can promise that "something special" is being planned to celebrate 50 years of orienteering here in Hammertown! The late Jack Lee formed the Hamilton Orienteering Association in the autumn of 1966 and we want to honour that important event at this year's race.
Could we be seeing 50 controls in the full raid? Perhaps a vintage 1966 map? A bit of both?
