So, how'd everyone do? No results yet, all I could find was the video of the men's awards ceremony...hm, and yes, now it is sailing. Anyone have anything?

Do these courses seem a bit long for middle distance to anyone else? The Long quali in Ukraine was the same distance and climb as this (fewer controls tho).

Details stated 45min winning times, I'd agree long for a middle distance...

I also noticed the lengths didn't match the stated format. I guess this is OK as long as the courses are good. Still I value an honest description, and I wish that the term "Middle" would be saved for events that meet the hard earned, and accepted(?) definition of "Middle" (30-35 min and technical). Obviously I missed the "45 minute" info.

The map scale is listed as both 1:15,000 and 1:10,000, one click(?) apart on the same web site, suggesting the organizers weren't sure about their animal either.

The 2007 World Cup schedule was notably weak in Classic/Long events. That Swedish mass start/mass finish event doesn't count for anything in my book, which left the WOC Long as the only Classic/Long race on the 10(?) event WCup schedule. So maybe the extra distance here was a step in the right direction, although it looks like we'll have to wait to see & evaluate the courses.

Also, no Russian men besides our Boris?

No lots of countries, and not so many from some of the top countries. I think that the only country even close to using its full quota was Switzerland.

I wonder what quota system they will put in for 2008.

So has Tero won every single men's World Cup race this year? That seems like a prodigious feat to me. Has that been done before?

Do you mean WC Middles? He didn't win the long at Oringen. He's definately been impressive this year though - even in sprint and long.

Hmm... is it safe to say he's won every WRE he's entered?

Yes:
