Hammer:
IOF has announced the list of the first group of allocated spaces for next year's World Games in Poland. The top 13 countries (all European) from WOC in alphabetical order are:

Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine

Each of those countries plus host Poland get 2+2 start positions and World Champions in each discipline also get a personal spot.

The IOF will allocate a place for a minimum of 1 man and 1 woman from each of the IOF regions (Africa, Asia, North America, Oceania, and South America) not having qualified a runner for the World Games and may allocate any remaining places at its discretion. There are 9 spots for men and 10 spots for women to allocate still.

The top ranked non-European country is Canada ( just 2 points ahead of NZL) so hopefully IOF allocates Canada and NZL 2+2 spots each so Canada and NZL will be able to participate in the sprint relay (otherwise the WG relay will be just another European Champs).

Ranking points of the countries NOT currently allocated spots are:

110 LAT
103 BLR
100 ESP
98 CAN (top non-Euro)
96 NZL (top Oceania)
83 LTU
76 BUL
71 AUS
59 ITA
59 GER
54 IRL
44 POR
34 USA
