That was fun! We should do this more often when we have group of ROC members going to A-meets together.

It was a great time - I've said to Rob and Rob that we need to do a family camp & O meet next summer;-)

I had a great time. It was nice to get to know some of you guys a little better. We would enjoy a family camp some time, especially if the rest of the folks with young kids all showed up, too.

For the record, I drove 4 hours non-stop, and arrived at the Y just in time to see the start of my kids' swimming lesson. Afterward the "Distance-to-Empty" fuel display on the van read "0". Fortunately I made it to the gas station across the street!

Rob S: I think I have one of your maps and you have one of my compasses. I'm expecting to be at the Webster Park meet next month. Maybe we can exchange there.

Nate and I had a great time last weekend. I hope ROC can continue to feel like a team at A-meets.

We've been to the DVOA training weekend twice - it is a great event. It'd be terrific if ROC could pull off something similar.

We were home by 6:30, and Chris drove Nate over to his 7:15 hockey practice. He said his legs were fine for skating. Oh, to be young again. I had enough trouble getting out of the chair to grab a beer to drown my sorrows as I watched the Bills game via TiVo-delay.

...but the Bills game was great to watch...

(okay, so I'm a New Englander by heritage...)

We should have write-up regarding SSF and Relay Champs in ROC newsletter. When was last time that many ROC members went to A-meet?

In the stats department we placed 4 ROC members in the top 20, 5 in the top 40 sprint positions;-) Nate edging Mike with Gil and Rob also neck and neck.

I think a write-up is a great idea. Maybe one of us could float the idea to Dick this weekend (I know he is always looking for content). The club members who haven't been exposed to an A-meet need to see what a good time it can be.

I have a few photos from the sprints, I think from sprint C.

Ok... I finally rescued my Sprint C photos from the camera. Looks like I might have done a better job with depth of field and shutter speed adjustments if I'd have put more thought and effort into it. Some are blurry, some have some people in focus and others not. At least one has nobody in focus. :-(

Warning: these pictures are 2.5 - 4 MB each. They are dumped raw straight from the camera and not scaled down at all, so will be slow to load unless you're on a really fast link.

If the newletter folks can do anything useful with them they are free to use them. If not, I really do understand! :-)

Oh, and feel to correct some of my guesses on who people are!

Thanks Mitch - nice work on some of them;-) I'm in that opening shot in the second rank (look for the forehead) - my dash helped me punch in with JJ at that first control and stick with him for 70% of it - best position of the weekend;-)

I've got some photos of the relay on a disposable camera that may or may not get developed soon...

Thanks for the link. It's nice to have Nate documented ahead of Gil and Greg!

The CSU uniform must be Brendan Shields. I'm sure Will was not in the race.

Nate has great conditioning coach I need to hire to get ahead again. My consolation out of it - I am still more handsome then Nate.... ;)
