Bargain alert! The Stars offer great event discounts to their members so it's often worth getting a club membership even if you race for another club, as I do. If you do all three races at the Ontario Champs, you can get a $24 discount on your event entry as a Stars member. It is $40 for a Full Membership and if you are in southern Ontario, you can get discounts on other 2016 Stars events to make your membership pay for itself.

Very enjoyable first day. My courses were excellent. Textbook Middle Distance course setting. And that maze of routes and barriers in the university residence area - Wow!
Thank you Nick and your team.
And what a beautiful school and high school next door for the Middle arena. We are so lucky in Canada to not have to string fences everywhere across school properties and still have the kids be safe from danger. (a pet peeve I have when mapping Florida school properties -'you can't get there from here')
But one question - that U of W key -like thing I picked up off the prize table: where does it go and what does it do? Seeing as it is Wateroo is it a card for a Blackberry?

I'm guessing the organizers are busy today but from a quick glance, it looked like a USB key.

I agree wholeheartedly about Day 1. So much fun and some tricky navigation. Looking forward to today's rugged escarpment terrain.

It looked like a USB key except different. The connections are more shaped like an SD card except a different size.
The mystery deepens.
Long: Good courses. Small problems typical of an overworked crew did not dampen a fine day of orienteering. Thanks for not making us go up or down any of those rocky escarpments.
