A request: I'd love to see a few videos made with the Jagge video tool that combines the video with GPS data and a scan of the map. (I want to see how the MTBO trail symbols compare to the video.)

You know there is something wrong with your own country when the US team has 5x the athletes of the Aussie team and they only entered the sport (internationally) three years ago!

The Tuesday start list shows M20, M21, and W20 at 0900 and W21 at 1000---CEST (Central European Summer Time). That is 0700 and 0800 GMT, and 0300 and 0400 EDT in the US.

1700 and 1800 (Tuesday) in Sydney.

You can "make changes to the current search" here for more time zones:

In tomorrow's (Tuesday Aug. 18) Middle distance race, some of our US team will be wearing GPS trackers, so watching them live on LiveCenter should be possible (if the system is working!).

Here's the list of 'tracked' US athletes, along with their English-speaking colleagues:

M21: Jeff Dickey (US; QOC), Dave Swanson (US; MNOC), Chris Firman (AUS)
W21: Rachel Furman (US; IRVOC), Emily Benham (GBR)

P.S. "Live" may technically a misnomer, since it's unclear when the tracking will be shown on LiveCenter relative to the actual ride. Some competitors start quite a bit earlier than others, and any broadcast will presumably only occur when all competitors have either started or are in a broadcast-free quarantine area.

Live results from the Middle, including intermediate times at a radio control, can be viewed here. Click on the class (M21, W21, etc) of interest.

The start lists have been posted for tomorrow afternoon's Sprint World MTBO Champs race. Weather is forecast to be clearing after today's heavy rain and cool temperatures. The terrain is expected to be 20-30% forest trails, 30% city parks and the remainder urban riding (streets, sidewalks and staircases).

Team USA start times (all CZ local time, which is 6 hours ahead of EDT) are:

Rachel - 12:38
Abra - 12:46
Sarah - 12:55
Sue - 1:07
Dave - 1:31
Nate - 1:43
Pete - 1:52
Tom - 2:13
Jeff - 2:34
Justin - 2:44

Rachel and Jeff are carrying GPS trackers again in the race and you can watch their route choices online (mouse over "Sprint" at www.wmtboc2015.cz and click on the GPS tracking link).

Also, Czech television will live broadcast the World MTBO Championships Sprint race tomorrow. You can follow the streaming live and cheer on Team USA from 13.00 CET with English commentators via the IOF LiveCenter: livecenter.orienteering.org

Hopefully I can get home in time for this race today. Stupid work computer wouldn't allow me to watch the GPS tracking yesterday before I left so I have no idea why Chris Firman is listed as DSQ, although watching the replay his tracker stopped just before the start line so maybe he lost it and got penalised for failure to carry mandatory equipment.

Surely the standard 4-hour penalty would be more appropriate? It's not like he forgot his helmet... :)

From the splits it looks like a missed/wrong control 25.

Australia's team may be small but it's getting the results - it looks like Angus is going to get silver in the M20 sprint.

Well done to Angus! Unfortunately I have to ride against him next year when he's a senior :-(

You can stick your 'declining years' where you told me to stick that 'lift to work' that I offered you this morning. :P

While Tash might be able to talk her way into JWOC, I'm pretty sure tRicky's beyond convincing anyone. :)

Well you'll never talk your way into JWOC if you're going to say silly things like that.

Maybe if her plait was longer.
