Up and ready to cheer everyone on.
I'm having trouble getting audio, video and GPS tracking going - any hints?
Audio and video ok, no GPS.
They said the estimated winning time of 14:30 may be a little high.
Me too. Only live results working for me :(
OK, how did you get audio? How did you get video? I see that W20 has started, there are a few radio control results.
refresh video off the IOF link.
Emma Waddington's doing great!
Emma is 3rd of 8, 32 seconds behind current leader. Nice run!
Yay Emma, right up with the Scandinavians :)
Jokela took them apart over the last section
and remember, Emma is 17!
Ap's the elk in 3rd... go matt
Julia got off to a great start, +46s at the first radio control.
GPS is up, but I can't get the plugin to work.
Matej is 1:22 behind at the 1.8km mark.
Tyra at first radio, even faster than Julia. Nice first JWOC runs by those girls!
Great run by Tyra!
It's hot here and the courses are tough.
Scalet and Niemi are good to watch on the tracking - Scalet lost time going through the green on 1-2.
The Kiwi Tim Roberston is killing it early. Cool, if I give them a 6 minute tail, I can compare him and Niemi
Very annoying that at some point (while I was away from the screen having dinner) they decided to delay video of the Men's race. Rather ludicrous as you could see from the live results and gps tracking that Tim R was winning while the video was calling very also-rans in the Women's race.
That'll teach you to eat dinner. Interesting having the top three Aussies just ten seconds apart (with our local lad Henry taking the honours).
Will Hubsch about to punch the second radio control; was at 50th place at the first one
Will must have had some trouble - dropped > 50 places
I don't think it will be 'delayed' on purpose. it will be a internet issue.. possibly at either end. I think it is live for me and no unexpected difference (video does take about 10-20seconds to upload to the internet). Look for the red 'live' icon in the top left of the screen. That means your watching the live stuff, if it says 'DVR' then skip forward to the live stuff.
Great run by Tyra! Congratulations! Excellent job by Julia too!
What happened to Amanda?
Up and down day for the US team. Great Races by Tyra and Julia! Courses were physical. Rough race for Izzy. Evalin and Melanie fought hard.
Amanda has been battling sickness over the last couple weeks and decided not to race to focus on middle tomorrow.
Guys all had a hard time with the heat and physical challenge. Matej ran well! Morten got very bad allergic reaction from the grass during the race and could not breath. Addison had a solid race, Austin and Will had rough days.
It looks like Tyra Christopherson and Emma Waddington have each set new records for their respective countries in finish placing in JWOC sprint (at 37 and 28). First JWOC for each.
You have to be <21 to run in JWOC.
WOW, congratulations Emma and Tyra. Fantastic Results! You should both be very proud. And Julia did very well too---and her first JWOC and she's only 15.
I don't think those photos are public. I don't see anything at the link.
I took a whole wack of pictures, good thing I had a 16 GB memory card

Robbie, your photos are not open to public view at the moment.
OK, now all pictures are in an album which Vince made public.

My pictures are now public
Facebook: Not the best way to share pics...
I'm not sure about that -- if the folder is given public access, I'm pretty sure anyone can view them whether or not they have a Facebook account. Let me know if I'm mistaken on that, though.
Just happy that people want to share their photos. Thanks!!
I don't have a Facebook and was unable to access the photos, but I'm pretty sure that anyone with an account is able to view them.
Let me elaborate...
Facebook is not a good way to share large numbers of photos. It's fine for a few at a time. However, when you want to post a large set, Fb just doesn't have the variety of ways to navigate among them that dedicated photo-sharing sites like Smugmug have.
Says the guy that's never used it.
I don't need to use it to know that it sucks, anymore than that time the girl at work told me I couldn't comment on how much the Twilight saga sucked even though I hadn't watched it. I just listen to what other people rambled and time wasted about on the site (much like me on AP).
