What time will the Sprint courses close on Friday? (I'm trying to determine if we can drive in from SLC that morning, or if we'd have to take an extra day and arrive the night before...) Thanks!

Just in case anyone else is interested, this is the email reply I received from the registrar: "They are expecting the starts to take less than one hour - that means they (starts) should be done by noon on Friday."

Not good news. What's the sense in starting so early for a short event on the first day? I was sure hoping for late afternoon. That means a big revision of travel plans to get there on time...

I agree...but that's the answer I got back. :-P

The OUSA AGM is in the afternoon on Friday (4-6pm) so the Sprint has to be earlier to accommodate that. There may be other reasons that it needs to be scheduled earlier, but I would think a "last start" of about 2pm would be good enough not to conflict with the AGM.

last start time would be great to know - I am travelling with small kids and getting there before noon might be painful.

The sun doesn't set in Boise until 9:30pm on June 26th, so plenty of sunlight after the AGM, too.

I'm getting the impression that the organizers aren't active Attackpoint readers. And the event website doesn't have any contact details...

Too bad abut the sprint time frame. I guess I won't quite be able to make it.

Sorry to hear it Clem. We published tentative schedule long time ago
http://www.ctoc-boise.org/PNWOF/goldrush/?page_id=...
for people to plan.

Best from East cost to arrive ether Thursday late to Boise or to SEA/SLC. There are early morning flights from there on Fridays allowing to get to sprint in time.

Just to make it easier we may consider keeping finish open until 2-2:30pm but we need your earlier requests to assess if this is viable. Please send directly to me savelichko at yahoo dot com

What would be the problem with keeping sprint starts open until 2pm?

Volunteer burnout.

As of latest we made a decision to keep finish open until 2pm and take late starts on per individual cases. Under assumption that majority will start in usual start window between 11 and 12:30 or so.

As mentioned above meet and course design notes with details, directions, and meet center maps are posted as a link here
http://www.ctoc-boise.org/PNWOF/goldrush/?page_id=...

We will provide printed copies of these notes in the competitor packages.

There might be couple changes to accommodate some requests though but it is more or less stable.
