I have to say that I checked that site out not too long ago, and was pretty surprised and disturbed to find a photo of my parents' headstone on it. It felt very intrusive, a real violation of privacy. I certainly didn't request a photo and can't think of anyone else who would have done. I'm sure I'd find it a useful site for genealogical purposes, and would be OK with a long-ago ancestor's grave being pictured, but this was not OK with me.

I'm kind of torn about more recent memorials, but think it's great for these older stones.

You might be able to request that the photo be removed....

I typed in a few essentials and this appeared. I was there (MI) once, thirty years after my mother died and took the identical picture. Then I wondered who might have taken the photograph. The web has an answer for most everything.
A WWW would, wouldn't it? But I agree with Maryann.

I'll just post historical ones (pre 1910) and requested photos. I see no need document large cemeteries.

I do hope to see ones that I requested, though.

I've been thrilled to find ancestors' tombstone photos on FindAGrave, but they're all quite old. My parents weren't buried so I don't know how I'd feel if I saw their tombstone, but I suspect it wouldn't bother me. But I can see how not everyone agrees with that. Maybe, like the Census, there should be a minimum time before these records are publicized. (Of course, one can physically go to a gravesite and see things. Not nearly as easy as FAG though.)

My dad's was there. Can't say it bothers me.
