Is there any permanent O' courses in northern part of Massachusetts or southern of Vermont?

NEOC appears to have permanent courses at Mt Tom in Holyoke and Forest Park in Springfield (both western rather than northern MA).

This page links to US clubs and independent parks with permanent course information. If anyone knows of updates to the list, please let me know.

Hi, Janet.

As a note... The permanent course link for Missouri is broken. The St. Louis O Club (SLOC) does have a permanent course, but it is not at Beaumont. It is at Rockwoods Range in Wildwood, MO. Here is a working link to purchase the map for the permanent course...

Janet: Cool! Thank you for the information. I am trying to help one of our Deaf USA O'er who lives south of Vermont that need some training for World Deaf Orienteering Championships in August. Thanks again Janet... :)

I don't think there are any O' maps in southern Vermont let alone permanent courses. We have some maps in central Vermont but again, no permanent courses. Some of the EMPO maps are pretty close to So. Vermont as are some of the UNO maps and of course NEOC (closest is Northfield Mtn. though there was also one at the school Northfield-Mtn. Hermond or something like that).

If they want some practice to prepare for an August event, I would suggest checking the EMPO, UNO, NEOC and WCOC calendars for local events.

Northfield Mountain had an excellent permanent orienteering course when I lived in the area. (In fact, it was the best that I've seen anywhere, with very sturdy posts and numerous controls of all difficulties.)

I orienteered in southern Vermont in a forest adjacent to the publisher of Orienteering for Sport and Pleasure (by Hans Bengtsson and George Atkinson). The map was black and white, and the terrain hilly. I have no idea where to find the map or get access.

If there's not a web page at the OUSA website with all the permanent courses, could someone make that happen?
