Is it one of these bike light torches?

It is the only downside that they just die with 0 warning. At least the old Silvas faded away. In any case Muckross is a better place to have it happen than 2/3 rds of the way around a Jukola course so be glad you have time to test it out.

It's from Ebay, one you gave me the link for.

I think the area around the on/off button is green when it's got battery, and it goes red when the battery is getting low. Only problem is that when the torch is on your head you've no idea what colour it is showing.

Yeah not much use when running. Mine usually lasts about 2.5 hours on full beam. Though I have seen ones that only last 1.5 hours.

As a word of warning Brian Armstrongs battery went on fire last week after he left it charging for ~12 hours and then picked it up. He reckoned picking it up caused some cardboard inside the pouch to hit the hot battery and go up in flames.

Dooby reads info regarding Brian's fire. Dooby promptly gets up and goes over to the wall to unplug charging battery. Dooby doesn't want a fire in his office despite the associated positives of having nowhere to work!!!

One of the guys here had one explode on him when it was charging, luckily he was at home at the time. I always plug mine in on its own (with nothing around it) and when I'm around. May be cheap but not always safe. Wouldn't worry though Dooby, it's only KCC.
